Mix 1 package white or yellow cake mix according to directions and bake in 10 x 16 inch or larger pan and cool.

Blend and whip for 2 minutes: 1 tsp. vanilla 1 env. Dream Whip

Mix together: 2 c. or 1/2 box powdered sugar

Add to prepared Dream Whip. Spread topping on cake. Slice 2 or 3 cups fresh strawberries over Dream Whip cheese topping. Crush 1 cup strawberries in pan. Add 3/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 1/2 cup water. Boil 2 minutes until clear. Add red food coloring if desired. Cool. Spread over strawberries on cake. Chill and store in refrigerator. Keeps well. Serves 24.
