PORK CHOPS AND SAUERKRAUT 
2 c. canned sauerkraut
2 c. pared and chopped apples
1 c. sliced onion
1 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
4 lean pork chops, well trimmed
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 c. water

In a colander, rinse and drain sauerkraut. In a large mixing bowl, combine sauerkraut, apples, onion, brown sugar, melted butter and nutmeg. Put 1/2 of this mixture into a buttered 2 quart casserole. Arrange pork chops over mixture. Cover pork chops with soy sauce. Add remaining sauerkraut mixture. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover casserole and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
