THE "HAGGARD CAKE" 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
Dash of salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 (#2) can crushed pineapple and juice

Mix all together with a spoon and pour into a greased and floured pan or Pyrex dish about 9 x 12. Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven 34 minutes (30 minutes for glass pan).

ICING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 sm. can evaporated milk
1 stick butter
Dash of salt
1 c. coconut
1 c. pecans, cut in small pieces
1 tsp. vanilla

While cake is baking, mix sugar, milk, and butter in a saucepan and boil 2 minutes. Add the coconut, pecans, and vanilla, dash of salt. Pour over the cake while both are warm. When cake is cold, cover with foil. When ready to serve cut into squares. Makes 12 generous servings.
