I love this recipe. way to much salt you can just use 1/2-3/4 a cup of salt. To get a better color mix it in smallre groups until you get the right color in each one of them then add the same colors together.

This is a good at-home project. I'm working in a preschool with 20 children and I found out really fast that this recipe can become incredibly expensive and hard to manage.

If you have the same issue, test out the recipe first and cut down the ingredient portions. Trust me, it could save about $20 and a huge mess. (The comments talking about using less salt and kool-aid instead really help! They're cheaper and prevent stained fingers while playing; thanks!)

Easy and fun for my kids to make. And I don't have to worry about them getting burned while making it.

I also use koolaid, that way you can talk about the smell and its a sensory activity as well =)

Fun project! I would add that I didn't add that much salt -- 1/2 cup is enough to this recipe. Also, if you want a concentrated color, better to mix in the food coloring with the liquid then add the flour last. If you want the kids to see the raw color of the dough then you can add the food coloring last (but you will need to knead the color into the dough and work it in or end up with a marble-like dough).

Easy and fun play dough recipe. It's nice that it's non-toxic if the kids eat it. I'll make this one again!
