4 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix flour and milk together and cook until thickened, cool. Mix the butter, Crisco, sugar and vanilla together. Beat for 3 minutes. Then add the thickened flour and milk after it is cooled, and beat 4 more minutes.
