FAVORITE FUDGE
2 c. sugar
3-4 heaping tbsp. cocoa (according to taste)
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

In a saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa. Mix thoroughly. Add milk, stirring until mixture is smooth. Heat until it comes to a boil. Continue slow boil, stirring occasionally to remove from sides of pan. Cook to soft ball stage, about 238 degrees.

Remove from heat, allow to cool for 15 minutes. Then stir in butter and vanilla. Beat hard until fudge becomes very thick and starts to loose its gloss. Pour into buttered dish. Refrigerate until firm and cut in pieces. Makes about 2 dozen pieces.
