BEEF LOAF 
2/3 c. dry bread crumbs
1 c. milk
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/4 c. grated onion
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. sage
3 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. catsup or chili sauce
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. dry mustard

Soak bread crumbs in milk. Add ground beef, eggs, onion, salt, pepper and sage. Mix well. Form into loaf and place in greased loaf pan. With fork, rough top of loaf. Combine brown sugar, catsup or chili sauce, nutmeg and ground mustard. Pour over loaf and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.

Serves 6 to 8.
