PRUNE CAKE 
1 c. Wesson oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. EACH soda, salt, nutmeg, allspice & vanilla
1 c. cooked, mashed prunes
1 c. chopped nuts
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk

Mix sugar, oil, eggs and add dry ingredients. Mix well; add buttermilk and fold in nuts, prunes and vanilla. Bake in large pan at 340 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Cut in squares while warm; pour sauce evenly over warm cake.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 cube butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix well. Bring to boil and cook on low heat approximately 10 minutes. Pour over warm or hot cake. Let stand 30 minutes. Serve.
