NO MESS, NO FUSS BEEF DINNER | |
1/2 tsp. butter (or sm. amount of olive or vegetable oil) 2 lbs. chuck steak, about 1 inch thick 1 env. Lipton's beefy-onion soup mix 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced 1 green pepper, sliced 1 (1 lb.) can of tomatoes, drained and chopped - reserve juice Salt (to taste) Pepper (to taste) 1 tbsp. A-1 Steak Sauce 1 tbsp. cornstarch 20 inch sheet of aluminum foil Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spread center of foil with butter or oil. Cut steak into long slices and arrange on foil, slightly overlapping each portion Sprinkle with soup mix, mushrooms, green pepper and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Mix A-1 Sauce, juice of tomatoes, and cornstarch. Pour over meat and vegetables. Bring foil up and double fold the edges to seal lightly and place in pan (with luck the foil won't leak and there will be no pan to clean). Bake for 2 hours. Serve over rice or noodles. Serves 6 people. |
