CHOCOLATE DROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 well beaten eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cocoa
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sweet or sour milk
1/2 c. nut meats

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; blend. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry mixture alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Blend well. Drop from teaspoon 2-inches apart on greased sheet pan.

Bake at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes. Don't overbake.

Makes 5 dozen.

Mocha Frosting for Chocolate Drop Cookies:

3 tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. hot coffee or hot water
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. powdered sugar or more
