BAKED ORANGES 
6 med. oranges
6 med. cooking apples
1 (#2) can crushed pineapple
1 1/2 c. sugar (use a little less if oranges and apples are sweet)
3 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cut oranges in half, cut out pulp with sharp knife, leaving thin rind of orange. Peel and chop apples, add sugar, orange pulp and pineapple. Cook until very thick, several hours. Stuff orange cups with mixture, sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Add butter to top.

Place in pan filled with enough water to keep from burning. Bake in 325 degree oven about 30 minutes. Great with ham and turkey and can take the place of salad. Can be made ahead and refrigerated or frozen. If made ahead, omit last step until ready to bake (pecans and butter).
