2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tsp. white sugar
Flour, enough to make a stiff dough

Mix all ingredients with enough flour to make stiff dough. Roll out thin layers and bake. Makes 7 to 8 layers.

TOPPING:

Cook dried apples until tender. 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. allspice 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. butter
