APPLE DUMPLINGS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. fat
4 1/2 tbsp. water
6 apples, pared and cored
Sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. nutmeg
butter
1 c. water

Make paste of flour, salt, fat and water according to directions for plain pastry. Roll out into 6 portions.

Place apple on each portion. Add 1 tablespoon sugar and small amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and butter to each apple. Fold dough around apple; place in baking dish. Heat water, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter together until melted. Pour syrup over dumplings. Bake in 425 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
