STRAWBERRY ICE-BOX DESSERT | |
1 pkg. gelatin 1/4 c. cold water 1/2 c. boiling water 1 1/4 c. sugar 1 qt. strawberries, crushed 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 c. cream, whipped stiff 1/4 tsp. salt 1 angel food cake Soak the gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes. Whip the cream, add salt and sugar and continue whipping until blended. Add the boiling water to gelatin until dissolved. Mash the berries, add the lemon juice and combine with gelatin until mixed and chill. When partially set, combine with whipped cream. Meanwhile, tear angel food cake into small pieces. Blend into whipped cream mixture and pour into long cake pan. Chill for 2 hours before serving. |
