SPICY CHINESE CABBAGE
6 c. coarsely shredded Chinese or green cabbage
1 sm. red pepper, seeded and cut in thin strips
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 to 1/4 tsp. pepper sauce
1 clove garlic, minced

Combine cabbage and red pepper in large heat proof bowl. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oil, vinegar, salt, sugar, pepper sauce and garlic. Pour over cabbage mixture. Cover bowl and microwave at high power 8 minutes, stirring once. Stir and spoon into serving dish. Or, cover and chill well to serve as chilled vegetable or salad.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

Spicy Chinese Cabbage

This was very good. Not too hot (we love spicy food though). It was fast and simple to make. I gave it 4 stars because as a side I would have found it needing something. We added crumbled sausage and ate it like a stir fry adding more siracha (what we used for the pepper sauce) to taste. Easy, simple and a really good cheap meal.
