PRETZEL DESSERT 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar, divided
1 1/2 c. coarsely crushed pretzels
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 (8 oz.) tub Cool Whip
1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin
2 c. boiling water
2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries

Cream together the butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Mix in the pretzels and press into 9 x 13 inch dish. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 6 minutes. Let cool.

Cream together the cream cheese, Cool Whip, and 1/2 cup sugar. Spread over the pretzel layer. Refrigerate 40 minutes. Combine the strawberry gelatin and the boiling water, stirring until the gelatin has dissolved. Stir in the strawberries. Pour over the cream cheese layer. Chill until set.
