FRIED APPLE TURNOVERS 
3 med. apples, peeled & chopped
1 tbsp. water
2/3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Pastry (for double crust recipe)

Combine apples and water in a saucepan, cover and cook over low heat 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. Combine sugar, flour and spices, add to apples and cook 10 minutes or until thick. Roll pastry 1/8" thickness, cut out 8 (5") circles. Spoon 2 1/2 tablespoons apple filling on each circle. Fold pastry in half, seal with fork, drop in hot grease and fry until golden brown.
