FOOLPROOF PIE CRUST | |
4 c. flour 2 tsp. salt 1 3/4 c. Crisco 1 tbsp. sugar 1 egg, beaten 1/2 c. cold water 1 tsp. vinegar Sift dry ingredients, add shortening. Mix together with a fork until mixture is fine as cornmeal. Mix together egg, water and vinegar, then add to other ingredients. Mix well. Shape into balls 4 to 6, depending on size of pan. Chill in refrigerator 15 or more minutes. Roll out on floured board or pastry sheet. Use for making your favorite pie, like apple. |
