1 pkg. chocolate cake mix 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. sour cream 3 eggs 1 c. chopped nuts 2 c. coconut 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated) FROSTING: 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar 3 tbsp. cocoa 1/8 tsp. salt 3 tbsp. butter, soft 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 or 4 tbsp. milk Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour jelly roll pan or cookie sheet, 10 x 15 inches. Mix cake mix, butter, sour cream and eggs; beat 2 minutes at highest speed on mixer. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake 18 to 20 minutes (center will be firm to touch). Combine coconut and condensed milk; gently spoon and spread over partially cooked base. Return to oven; bake 15 to 20 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly. Blend frosting ingredients; beat 2 minutes at medium speed until fluffy. Spread over warm bars. Makes 3 to 4 dozen bars. |
