SUGAR GLAZED NUTS | |
1 egg white (large) 4 cups unsalted pecans (may substitute walnuts, almonds or cashews) 1 cup sugar Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, whisk egg whites until light and frothy. Add nuts and stir. Add sugar and stir to coat well. Lightly grease or spray an aluminum foil lined baking sheet. Spread nut mixture evenly in a single layer over foil. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Stir nuts and bake for another 10 to 12 or just until sugar is light golden brown - watch carefully so that they do not brown. Cool completely before storing in a plastic bag or airtight container. If you are in a warm or humid environment, store in refrigerator for best results. Yield: 5 cups.
