CAROL'S EASY APPLE CRISP 
4 cups sliced tart apples
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
dash of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon or apple pie spice

CRUMBLE TOPPING:

3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup oatmeal (uncooked)
1/3 cup butter, softened
chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine apples, sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, salt and spice. Spread evenly in a fairly deep square baking pan or dish.

Combine topping ingredients and crumble over top of apples.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is browned.
