PUMPKIN CAKE 
Serves 9 to 12.

BASE:

1 box yellow cake mix (set aside 1 c.)
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg

Mix above together and press into bottom of 9 x 13 pan.

FILLING:

1 lb. can pumpkin
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 c. milk

Mix above, and pour over base.

TOPPING:

1 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. (or to taste) chopped nuts

Mix until crumbly, then sprinkle over filling.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until filling is firm. (Test after 35 minutes.)
