CANDIED SWEET POTATOES 
1 c. sugar
Dash salt
1 tsp. nutmeg (or cinnamon, if preferred)
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. water
1/2 stick butter
4 med. sweet potatoes

Slice sweet potatoes, lengthwise, as for large french fries (each half potato should make about 3 slices). Place in baking dish. Mix all other ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil. Pour over potatoes and bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and the syrup is thick.
