GLORIFIED RICE 
1 sm. can crushed pineapple
2/3 c. Minute Rice
2/3 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
1 banana, diced
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 c. whipping cream, whipped

Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. Combine rice, water, reserved pineapple syrup and salt, mixing just to dampen rice. Quickly bring to boiling, cover and lower heat; simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in marshmallows, fruit, and lemon juice. Cool before folding in whipped cream. Chill before serving.

The recipe does not call for it, but I add a few chopped maraschino cherries and about 1/2 cup of sugar to mine when adding the fruit and marshmallows.
