BEEF LIZANOFF | |
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. Flank steak 1 onion 2 cloves garlic 1 lg. pkg. fresh mushrooms 1 can beef broth Cornstarch or flour with water to thicken 1 pkg. egg noodles Sour cream Cut steak into strips then cut against the grain into cubes. Brown meat with chopped onion and minced garlic. Drain fat. Add beef broth and sliced mushrooms. Simmer for 2 hours, or until meat is tender. You may need to add a little water to maintain a good liquid content as the meat simmers. After meat is tender it is time to thicken. To do this in separate cup combine 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to 1/4 cup of cold water and mix well with a fork. Pour this mixture into beef mixture and stir. Simmer for an additional 15 to 20 minutes. While simmering, prepare and drain noodles. Serve beef over noodles and place a little sour cream on top of each individual serving. |
