HAZEL'S CHOCOLATE PIE FILLING | |
6 tbsp. cocoa 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 heaping serving spoons flour Dash of salt 1 1/4 c. milk 3 egg yolks 3 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Place sugar, sifted flour, salt, and cocoa into the top of a double boiler. Add 1 cup of milk gradually and stir well. Beat egg yolks and 1/4 cup milk and add to sugar mixture. Cook in a double boiler and stir until the sugar dissolves. Then stir occasionally until thick. You will have to add water to the bottom of your boiler, because it takes 30-50 minutes. You can't over cook. Remove and add butter and vanilla. This also makes a wonderful fudge sauce by using more milk and less flour. Use about 1 1/2 cups milk and 2 slightly rounded serving spoons of flour. |
