1 c. sifted self-rising flour
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
About 20 candy kisses

Sift flour and set aside. Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugar. Add milk, egg and vanilla. Beat well. Blend in flour gradually. Mix thoroughly. Shape into balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and place a candy kiss on top of each cookie pressing down gently so that cookie cracks around edge.
