HEARTY BREAD 
3 c. stone ground whole wheat flour
1/3 c. honey
1/4 c. shortening
2 pkgs. dry yeast
3/4 - 1 c. dry oatmeal, i.e.: quick oats, cornmeal, malt-o-meal
1 egg
2 sm. grated potatoes, boiled in 1 1/2 - 2 c. water
3/4 - 1 c. dried skim milk
3-4 c. flour, white

Mix 1/3 cup honey, 1/4 cup shortening, egg, dried milk and cooked potatoes in large pan. Beat well. Add stone ground whole wheat flour, yeast and white flour. Allow to rise until double after mixing well. Punch down and pat into 2-3 greased bread pans. Bake 350 degrees, 2 hours.
