DOG BISCUITS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. onion or garlic powder
1/2 c. powdered dry milk
6 tbsp. butter, lard or bacon fat
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. water

Mix flour, dry milk, salt and onion powder. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal. Beat the egg and sugar together and add to the dry mixture. Add water to make the dough stiff. Knead until smooth and pliable. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into shapes. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes. To harden even more, leave in oven after turning off heat.
