CANDY DATE ROLL 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. pitted dates
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. butter
Powdered sugar

Cook together sugar, dates, milk until mixture forms a soft ball. Remove from heat, set pan in cold water. Cool to lukewarm. Add nuts and butter. Beat until thick and cool. turn onto board dusted with powdered sugar and knead until it will mold well. Roll into a long cylinder about 1 inch in diameter and refrigerate.
