BREAD PUDDING 
3 c. bread cubes (6 slices day old)
3 c. milk
1/2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 lg. eggs

Place slightly dry, 1/2" bread cubes in 2 quart baking dish. Scald milk in saucepan; stir in raisins, sugar, butter, vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Beat eggs in medium bowl. Gradually blend in milk mixture. Pour over bread. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm topped with strawberry preserves. 6 servings.
