SHOO - FLY PIE 
2 (8") pie plates with pastry
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. light molasses
1/2 c. hot water
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.

Mix together the molasses, water and baking soda. Divide evenly between 2 pastry lined 8 inch pie pans. Top each with 1/2 of the crumbs. (Be careful not to slop liquid up onto edge of crust, as it will burn.)

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake about 20 minutes longer or until firm.
