Measure 2 quarts berries, then mash. Heat together 4 cups sugar and 4 cups water. Let cool slightly. Add 1 quart vodka, 3/4 quart dry vermouth, and put in gallon jar. Cover tightly and open in 4-5 months. Siphon juice off berries and store in cool place.
