STIR FRY WITH FRIED RICE
1 lb. sliced carrots
1/2 bunch broccoli florets (& some of the stalk if desired)
1/2 green pepper
1/4 red bell pepper, optional
2 green onions, chopped finely
1 clove garlic, minced
Other vegetables if desired
1 lb. chicken strips or 1 lb. beef strips
Brown sauce, recipe below
Salt & pepper

Saute vegetables in wok or electric skillet in 1 teaspoon Puritan oil (and 1 teaspoon butter if not dieting). Then add a little water, put on lid, and steam a few minutes to desired doneness. Remove from pan. Set aside.

Add 1 more teaspoon Puritan oil and 1 teaspoon butter (optional) and saute the meat strips. Stir frequently until browned. Add a little water or broth and steam for about 5 minutes. Add vegetables and Brown Sauce. Stir carefully until sauce is thickened and meat and vegetables are coated with sauce. Serve with fried rice if desired.

BROWN SAUCE:

1/2 c. La Choy soy sauce
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. brown sugar
Dash garlic powder
2 tsp. cornstarch

Shake these ingredients in a jar and add some to the meat mixture as desired; some can be added to the fried rice if desired.
