NANA'S DESSERT | |
1 lg. can evaporated milk (milnot), chilled 3/4 c. pineapple juice 1 pkg. lemon jello 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. orange juice Juice of 1 lemon 2 c. crushed vanilla wafers Whip milk in large glass or metal bowl with electric mixer. Heat pineapple juice in pan over medium heat. Add jello, stir to dissolve. Remove from heat. Add juice of 1 lemon and 1 cup sugar and orange juice. Whip with mixer, let cool. Fold into whipped milk mixture slowly. Put crushed vanilla wafers in bottom of 9 x 13 dish (save 2 tablespoons) for garnishing the top. Refrigerate. Note treat canned milk just like whipping cream. No plastic bowls. Milk will form soft peaks. |
