GLAZED APPLE COOKIES | |
1/2 c. butter 1 1/3 c. brown sugar (packed) 1 egg 2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 1 c. coarsely ground nuts (pecans) 1 c. finely chopped peeled apple 1 c. raisins 1/4 c. milk Beat together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat an egg to blend thoroughly. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Stir half of dry ingredients into creamed mixture; stir in pecans, apple and raisins. Then stir in remaining dry ingredients and 1/4 cup milk. Mix well. Drop onto lightly-greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. While still warm, spread with glaze. GLAZE: 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 tbsp. milk Makes 3 dozen. |
