ICE BOX CAKE | |
1 pt. whipping cream 6 eggs 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 c. water 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin 2 doz. lady fingers Nuts, chopped Line Springform pan with lady fingers. Sprinkle bottom of pan with cut lady fingers. Put gelatin in water and heat (do not boil) until dissolved. Let stand and cool. Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat cream stiff. Beat yolks with vanilla and sugar. Pour gelatin into egg yolk mix, stirring constantly. Add yolk mix to cream and blend. Add whites and fold in evenly. Pour into pan and sprinkle with nuts. Put in refrigerator to set. |
