MOTHER'S COOKED SALAD DRESSING | |
2 eggs 5 tbsp. sugar 3 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt Few grains of paprika 1 heaping tsp. prepared mustard 1/2 c. white vinegar 1 tall can of evaporated milk In a double boiler: beat eggs well, add sugar, salt, paprika, mustard and flour. Heat vinegar to boiling point - pour over egg mixture, beating all the time. Add milk gradually, cook until thick as desired, beating constantly. Cool. Makes about 2 cups. This is always used for our potato salads. Combine this dressing with whipped cream for fruit salads. |
