SUE'S APRICOT BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. sifted flour

Mix together and pack into the bottom of an 8x8 inch pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

FILLING:

2/3 c. dried apricots
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Boil the apricots in as little water as possible until soft; set aside.

Beat eggs well. Add brown sugar and dried ingredients, sifted together. Add vanilla and apricots. Spread on top of the baked mixture and sprinkle with nuts. Bake another 25 minutes until golden. Cut in squares and roll in confectioners' sugar if desired.
