LAYERED TACO DIP 
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1/2 of 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
2/3 c. taco sauce
1 1/2 c. torn lettuce
1/3 c. green peppers, chopped
3/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 med. size tomato, chopped
1 sm. can chopped black olives (optional)
1 lg. bag tortilla chips

In a mixing bowl, stir the sour cream and cream cheese until smooth. On a large platter spread mixture to desired thickness. Spread with taco sauce; layer with lettuce, onion, pepper, cheeses and then add tomatoes just before serving to keep excessive water off of the dip. Also black olives may be added. Serve with chips.
