APPLE-ALLSPICE MUFFINS 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 c. finely chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

TOPPING:

4 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. allspice

For 4 servings.

1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg.

2. Combine the flour, baking powder, allspice, and salt. Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk to butter mixture. Do not over mix. Stir in apples and walnuts.

3. Fill greased muffin pans.

4. Combine the topping ingredients by cutting the butter into the sugar, flour and allspice mixture.

5. Sprinkle over each muffin.

6. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool in pan for a few minutes before removing.
