2 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. nuts, chopped

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well and add dry ingredients to nuts. Mix together. Shape into roll 2 1/2 inches round; wrap in wax paper and chill good. Slice 1/8 inch thick and bake on greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.
