REFRIGERATOR COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tbsp. vanilla

Combine shortening, sugar, salt and beat thoroughly. Add nuts and mix well. Sift flour with soda, add to mixture and blend. Pack tight into pan lined with wax paper. Chill in refrigerator overnight or until firm enough to slice. Bake in moderately hot oven (375 degrees) 8 to 10 minutes. Will keep in freezer for 2 months.
