GINGER ALE SALAD 
2 (3 oz.) boxes lemon Jello
2 c. boiling water
2 c. ginger ale
20 oz. can crushed drained pineapple
2 or 3 sliced bananas
1 c. miniature marshmallows
1 c. pineapple juice
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. Cool Whip
Chopped nuts
9x13 inch pan

Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Add ginger ale. Let set until partly thick. Add pineapple; saving juice for topping. Add bananas and marshmallows. Mix pineapple juice, sugar, flour, egg and cook until it thickens. Remove from heat and add butter. Stir until melted and chill. Add Cool Whip and put on top of Jello. Sprinkle nuts on top and chill.

My Mom used to make this recipe when I was young, but she insisted that you MUST use Vernor's ginger ale. I always buy Vernor's when I go home to Ohio so that I can make this tasty dessert in memory of her.
