GRANDMA BRUMMUNDS PEANUT BRITTLE
CANDY
 
1 c. corn syrup
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. raw peanuts

Put sugar, syrup and water in heavy saucepan. Bring slowly to boil 230 degrees F. or until syrup spins a thread. Cook it a little longer until it turns a little dark yellow around the edge of the kettle add butter and vanilla and salt. Stir. Add raw peanuts. Cook a little longer after you add the peanuts. Add the soda last. Mix pour into 2 well buttered cookie sheets 15 1/2 x 10 1/2. When cool break into pieces.
