RICH DEVIL'S FOOD 
2 squares bitter chocolate, melted in 1 c. boiling water; cool
1/2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream butter and butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Alternate flour with sour cream, beginning with flour and ending with flour (3 flour and 2 sour cream additions). Add cooled chocolate mixture last. Add vanilla. Bake in a 9x13 inch greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Test with toothpick; crumbs remain on pick. Can also use round layer cake pan.

Frost with desired icing.
