WALNUT DATE BARS 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter

Mix melted butter with flour and sugar thoroughly. Spread in greased oblong pan. Press and flatten with hand to cover bottom of pan.

FILLING:

1 c. light brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking powder
3 c. chopped dates
3 c. walnuts

Mix well and pour over bottom pastry. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
