TANTE ALYSE'S BRISKET 
5 lb. brisket
1 can beer
2 bay leaves
3 tsp. sweet basil
Lowery's seasoned salt to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Pepper to taste
2 onions, sliced thin
1 (12 oz.) box pitted prunes
4 carrots, sliced thin

Marinate brisket in first 6 ingredients for 24 hours. Add onions, prunes and carrots. Cover with foil. Bake at 375 degrees for 3 hours, fat side up. Baste often. Uncover last 1/2 hour to brown.
