6 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. salt
6 tbsp. bluing
2 tbsp. ammonia
2 drops food coloring (red)
1 lump coal

Place coal in a glass dish. Pour water, salt, bluing, ammonia and food coloring over coal. Crystals will form within 24 hours. This is unusual and different each time.
