Cream together: 1 lb. butter (1/2 butter, 1/2 butter) 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar Add flavoring: 1 tsp. orange extract Add: 1 lg. egg Grated rind of 1 orange and 1 lemon 3/4 tsp. salt 5 c. flour, add a little at a time Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes for small flattened ones, or 10 to 15 minutes for large. To decorate, you can press 1/2 candied cherry in middle, roll edges in chopped nuts, press Hershey Kiss in middle, put chocolate chips in batter (use vanilla, 2 teaspoons instead of the fruit rind and extract), or use colored sprinkles. |
